Keeping Up With SEO and New Graphics Design

One question all ecommerce website owners ask themselves on a daily basis is “what information will keep the shopper on my site?” Ecommerce website owners are looking for a magic formula to get their website on the first page of a google search for keywords. That would be number one on my “wish list” if there were website fairies (maybe they are like M&Ms and Santa…they do exist??).  Well, since the website fairies  all seem to be busy somewhere else, I guess I have to use my knowledge resources and read, read, read.  Keeping up with the seo (search engine optimization) tips and tricks to keep the search engines indexing and crawling my websites could be a full time job.  That is. . .if I understood how to do all of the things that the articles I find suggest. . .or knew exactly what the articles are telling me to do.  Thank goodness there are people who read the expert’s articles and then publish a plain english version for those of us not into total web speak.

One of the projects that I started and am nearly done with is cleaning up both of my websites.  I wanted a cleaner, more modern, shopper friendly design that is easier to navigate and use.  In my last post I announced that you could check out the new look for KC Bead Designs and I hope you did.   The second part of that project involved designing new banners/logos for both websites.  I found a talented and dependable graphics designer to work with me since a graphics artist I am not!  Mary, ilhaverdes Digital Delights, was very easy to work with and tuned in to what I was looking for in my banners and logos.  She designed several banners and then I chose the designs I liked best and she made them in the sizes I asked for.   A preview of some of the new banners is below.

Since the websites have a new look and new banners/logos I thought it would be a good idea to restate the basic idea behind KC Bead Designs  and Reflections…Beaded Jewelry.  Both websites offer you (the shopper) the opportunity to purchase and own unique, one-of-a-kind handcrafted beaded jewelry.  Artisan jewelry designs not mass produced and sold at the local mall or department store where everyone else will be shopping. You can dare to be different and choose to wear handcrafted beaded jewelry in exclusive designs and colors no one else will be wearing.

Thanks for previewing my new looks.

’till next time!
